Ehren-Dekret für die Prytanen der Antiochis

Unter dem Archon Demetrios; die Antiochis hatte die neunte Prytanieinne; im Elaphebolion am siebenundzwanzigsten, gemäß dem Gott (= Sonne)am dreiundzwanzigsten, dem achtundzwanzigsten (Tag) der Prytanie;Volksversammlung im Piräus; von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung Se-leukos S.d. Menekles aus dem Demos Kollyte und seine Mitvorsitzenden; SopatrosS.d. Kallon aus dem Demos Phaleron stellte den Antrag: Worüber Bericht erstatten die Pry-tanen der Antiochis, nämlich über die Opfer, die sie opferten vor denVolksversammlungen dem Apollon Prostaterios und derArtemis Boulaia und dem Zeus Ktesios zusammen mit dessenPriester und den anderen Göttern, denen es traditionell Brauch war, zu Glück und Heil!,wolle beschließen das Volk: dass man das Gute bei den Opfern billige,die sie opferten für das Heil und die Rettung des Rates und desVolkes und der Bundesgenossen; – Da aber die Prytanen geopferthaben alle die Opfer, zu denen sie in der Prytanie verpflichtet waren,in guter und ehrgeiziger Weise; sie auch Sorge getragen habenfür das Zusammentreten des Rates und der Volksversammlung und für allesandere, was ihnen die Gesetze vorschrieben und die Beschlüssedes Volkes: dass man belobige die Prytanen der Antiochisund sie bekränze mit goldenem Kranz gemäßdem Gesetz wegen ihrer Frömmigkeit gegenüber den Göttern undihres Ehrgeizes für den Rat und das Volk derAthener; dass man belobige auch den Schatzmeister - - -S.d. Eukles aus dem Demos Alopeke und bekränze gemäß dem Gesetz;dass diesen Beschluss der Sekretär, der während derPrytanie amtiert, aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle in demPrytanikon; dass für die Aufzeichnung auf die Stele unddie Weihung der Finanzverwalter die entstandenen Kostenbegleiche.

Of the presiding committeeSeleukos son of Menekles of Kollytos was putting to the vote and his fellow presiding committee members. Sopatrosson of Kallon of Phaleron proposed: concerning what theprytany of Antiochis reports about the sacrifices which they made beforethe Assemblies to Apollo Prostaterios and toArtemis Boulaia and to Zeus Ktesios [together with his priest?]and to the other gods for whom it is customary, for good fortune,the People shall decide to welcome the good results (that have occurred) in the sacrificeswhich they made for the health and preservation of the Council and thePeople and the allies; and since the prytanymade all the sacrifices which are proper in the prytanywell and with love of honour, and also has taken careof the convening of the Council and the People and ofeverything else which the laws and the decrees of the Peopleprescribe for it, to praise the prytany of Antiochisand to crown it with a [gold] crown accordingto the law, for its piety towards the gods andits love of honour towards the Council and the People of theAthenians, and to praise the treasurer - - -son of Eukles of Alopeke and to crown him according to the law;and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decreeon a stone stele and stand it in theprytanikon; and for the inscribing of the stele andits setting up [the administrator] shall defray the accruedcost.
